Bio
Katia was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, and moved to Louisiana in 2003, where she has called the U.S. home ever since. After high school, she earned a full-ride scholarship to attend Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C., graduating with honors in 2021 with a degree in Criminal Justice. As a DACA recipient, Katia has a deep, personal understanding of the importance of immigration law and is passionate about advocating for those who feel voiceless. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she uses her language skills to connect with and empower diverse communities.
In her free time, Katia enjoys spending quality time with her son and family, as well as attending concerts and music festivals.
